Airgas set to acquire Oilind Safety

TORONTO (ICIS news)--US industrial gases firm Airgas has agreed to acquire Oilind Safety, a provider of rental safety equipment, it said on Friday.

 

Oilind employed over 200 people in 16 locations, primarily in the western US, with revenues of $21m (€13m) last year, Airgas said.

 

Financial terms were not disclosed.

 

Airgas expected to complete the acquisition by 1 July, it said.

 

Oilind would operate as a stand-alone company within Airgas’ construction and rental businesses, it said.

 

Oilind president Kirk Peda would report to Jack Appolonia who had been promoted to vice president of Airgas’ construction and rental businesses effective 1 June, it added.

 

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Oilind Safety provides rental safety equipment such as fall protection, breathing air and gas monitoring systems, as well as safety management services for audits, training and emergency response planning.
