HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US polyvinyl chloride (PVC) exports were 109,997 tonnes in April, up 77% from the same month one year earlier, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Tuesday.
Exports in April were also 2% higher than the 108,085 tonnes shipped in March.
Market sources said US PVC exports volumes have increased greatly over the same period in 2007 due to weak domestic demand.
US PVC export spot prices were assessed in the $1,070-1,100/tonne (€685-704/tonne) FOB (free on board) US Gulf range, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
