HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US chloroform exports were 17,956 tonnes in April, up 33% compared with the same month of 2007, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) said on Tuesday.
Exports in April were also 99% higher than the 8,989 tonnes shipped in March due to stronger demand for downstream refrigerants as temperatures rise in the Northern Hemisphere.
US chloroform export spot prices were assessed in the 23-28 cents/lb ($507-617/tonne) FOB (free on board) US Gulf range, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
