Wuhai develops 400,000 tonne/year PVC project

SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Junzheng Energy Chemical Co has broken ground on a 400,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Wuhai in Inner Mongolia autonomous region early this month, said a company source on Wednesday.

Junzheng has invested yuan (CNY) 1.95bn ($282m) in the PVC project which is expected to go on stream in 2009.

“The output value may reach CNY1.8bn ($260m) after it operates,” added the source.

Other related projects that will follow include another 320,000 tonne/year PVC plant and a 600,000 tonne/year caustic soda unit, with full completion planned in five years' time, added the company source.
