HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Brazilian petrochemical producers would welcome a new formula to calculate the price of naphtha feedstock, according to press reports on Thursday.

Petrobras has been discussing the ways to revise how the state-run feedstock producer calculates its naphtha prices which could result in a 10-15% reduction for buyers such as Quattor, the new name for the holding company that groups the petrochemical assets of Unipar and Petrobras, according to a report by Reuters, citing company officials.

Braskem, which is Latin America’s largest petrochemical producer, is also partner with Petrobras at the Companhia Petroquimica do Sul (CPS), a large integrated petrochemical complex in the southern region of the country, and would be brought into the talks.
