SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center will shut down its No 2 cracker at 5:00 pm local time (08:00 GMT) due to leakage in its purification tower, a source from the company said on Friday.
"The company will shut its No 2 cracker due to a gas leakage at its purification tower," the source added in Korean.
The 550,000 tonne/year cracker was restarted on 8 May after a power outage forced the company to shut down all three crackers on 3 May.
YNCC is the largest producer of ethylene in South Korea, with a combined capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year.
