China’s JianFeng plans shutdown at melamine unit

SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based JianFeng Chemicals plans to shut down its 30,000 tonne/year melamine plant in the southwestern city of Chongqing from 1 July for a 50-day maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

"During the shutdown period, we will not supply cargoes to the market as we don’t have inventories, the source added in Mandarin.

Domestic melamine prices were assessed stable at yuan (CNY)11,500-12,000/tonne ($1,667-1,739/tonne) ex-works, traders said.

Melamine is used in the construction and furniture sectors.
