MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Sweden's Perstorp has signed an agreement with Polymer Factory in order to give the company access to Perstorp’s dendritic polymer technology for product development, it said on Tuesday.
No financial details were disclosed.
“The agreement gives Polymer Factory license to use Perstorp’s dendritic technology and Boltorn (a dendritic polymer) for advanced research and product development,” Perstorp said.
“This co-operation is a great opportunity for us [Polymer Factory]. Perstorp focuses mostly on large volumes but we can produce small quantities of highly specialised dendritic materials,” said Sweden-based Polymer Factory’s CEO Mats Wallner, adding that together the companies could serve clients with very different requirements.
Perstorp was the leading producer of the specialty polymer dendtritic, which had different end uses like in coatings and plastics, said Hakan Bjornberg, the company's business development manager.
Polymer Factory, meanwhile, had long experience in dendritic polymer research and an excellent network in the academic world, Bjornberg added.
