SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp has awarded its tender to buy naphtha for delivery in mid-July and August, industry sources said on Wednesday.
CPC paid a premium of $5-6/tonne to Japan quotes CFR (cost and freight) Taiwan for delivery in August. It had earlier paid a premium of $1-2/tonne to Japan quotes CFR Taiwan for a cargo for delivery in July.
The company had sought 2-3 cargoes of 30,000 tonnes of N+A naphtha for delivery over 10-20 July and 1-31 August into Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan. The tender had closed on 12 June and was valid till 13 June.
CPC previously bought a similar cargo at a discount of $5/tonne for delivery over 15-31 July.
