SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Aromatics major, Japan Energy will restart benzene and paraxylene (PX) production at its Chita-based lines from early July after a maintenance shutdown, said a company source on Wednesday.
The Chita-based No 1 and No 2 PX lines, with a total 400,000 tonnes/year capacity, were taken offline for maintenance in mid-May, he said.
The company produces about 200,000 tonnes/year of benzene, which is channelled for its downstream 200,000 tonne/year cyclohexane plant, he added.
Nippon Oil and Idemitsu Kosan, along with Japan Energy, are some of the key benzene and PX producers in Japan.
