LONDON (ICIS news)--Force majeure on styrene production at Repsol’s Tarragona unit has been lifted, a company source said on Wednesday.

“I can confirm that it has been lifted and that we are returning to normal production,” the source said.

He would not be drawn, however, on the percentage of capacity at which the plant would be running.

Force majeure had been declared on production from the co-producing 200,000 tonne/year propylene oxide and 465,000 tonne/year styrene units at the end of April due to technical difficulties at the site. The stoppage had been expected to last at least 30 days.

The status of propylene oxide and downstream glycols production was not yet known, as the source could only comment on styrene production.
