SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korean producer Kumho P&B Chemicals has started its new No 3 bis-phenol A (BPA) line on schedule this morning, a company official said on Friday.

"We started the plant early in the morning, but we are still not sure on when we will reach normal (100%) operation rates - we will try to produce on-spec material first," he added.

The line, located at its Yeocheon petrochemical complex, has a nameplate capacity of 150,000 tonne/year.

Other key Asian suppliers of BPA include Nan Ya Plastics, Mitsui Chemicals, LG Chemicals, and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
