SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Jiangsu Sopo will shut down its 270,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Zhenjiang in east China for maintenance from 25 June, a source from the company said on Friday.

"We are planning to shut the plant on 25 June and it should be restarted in mid-July," the source said in Mandarin, adding that the restart dates may be changed according to market situation but the plant would be shut down for at least two weeks.

"We will have enough stock to sell one shipment before we shut down the plant for maintenance," the source added.

Jiangsu Sopo is a major producer of etac in eastern China, operating a 600,000 tonne/year feedstock acetic acid plant integrated with its etac plant.
