India’s Atul to ramp organics capacity by 192%

NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s Atul Limited has received environmental clearance to triple its organic intermediates capacity to 78,444 tonnes/year from 26,868 tonnes/year at Ankleshwar in Gujarat State, a Government official said on Friday.

 

The rupees (Rs) 460m ($11m) project provides for an increase in capacity of 10 existing products such as cresols, para anisaldehyde, para cresidine and sodium sulphite.

 

The project also allows for the manufacture of 16 new intermediates that include para toluene sulphonic acid, octyl methoxy cinnamate, 4-methoxy phenyl acetonitrile and para cresyl acetate.

 

The official did not specify commissioning schedule for different products.
