Rohm and Haas begins ops at Mexico hi tech plant

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Rohm and Haas has recently begun operations at an emulsion polymers and polyacrylates high technology plant in Queretaro, Mexico, the US-based producer said on Monday.

The company said it invested $20m (€13m) in the plant, which is the first of its kind in Latin America. Located in Parque Industrial Queretaro, the plant will result in 100 direct jobs, the company said.

Rohm and Haas did not divulge the capacity of the plant.

Emulsion polymers and polyacrylates are used in markets including construction, textiles, adhesives, sealants, industrial, household and personal care.

Production at Rohm and Haas’s Apizaco plant will be transferred to the Queretaro site, the company said.
