SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Liaoning Beifang Jinhua Polyurethane Co will start up a 50,000 tonne/year toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) plant in mid-September, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The plant will take trial runs in mid-August and come on stream in mid-September,” the source said.

The capacity of the plant would be expanded to 100,000 tonnes/year in 2009 or 2010, the source added.

Construction work began in April last year with an investment of more than yuan (CNY) 700m ($101m).

The company is located in the northeastern province of Liaoning.
