SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical has delayed the restart of its No 1 cracker in Kashima to 4 July, a source from the company said on Monday.

“The company has decided to delay the restart of its No 1 cracker to run a few more checks on the facility. It will be restarted on 4 July,” the source said.

The 375,000 tonne/year cracker was shut on 13 May for a maintenance turnaround and was initially scheduled to be restarted on 1 July.

Mitsubishi operates three crackers with a combined capacity of about 1.3m tonne/year.
