SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical has delayed the turnaround schedule for its No 2 cracker in Kashima due to delays in the restart of its No 1 cracker at the same site, a source from the company said on Monday.
“Due to the delays in the restart of the No 1 cracker, the company has decided to delay the turnaround schedule for its No 2 cracker,” the source said.
The 603,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker would be shut on 6 July and restarted on 21 August, the source added.
The cracker was initially scheduled to undergo a turnaround from 2 July to 15 August.
Mitsubishi operates three crackers with a combined capacity of about 1.3m tonnes/year.
