DUBAI (ICIS news)--Cristal Global has increased titanium dioxide (TiO2) by €80/tonne ($127/tonne) in Europe and $200/tonne in the Middle East and Africa for all grades effective 1 August - the second hike in less than a month, the Saudi Arabian company said on Tuesday.
Cristal said all of its recent price initiatives were needed to offset unprecedented increases in raw materials such as sulphates as well as higher energy and transportation costs.
The moves follows similar hikes made for Asia and the Americas, effective 1 July.
The company increased TiO2 prices for the Middle East by $150/tonne and by €50/tonne in Europ in June, which took effect from 1 July.
Generally, Cristal doesn’t disclose the real price of the product but only indicates the variation in prices.
($1 = €0.63)
