HOUSTON (ICIS news)--July US mixed xylene (MX) contracts were fully settled at $4.02/gal ($1,206/tonne, €772/tonne) and $4.10/gal, a gain of 28-29 cents from May contracts, sources said on Tuesday.

The free on board (FOB) settlements, which were said to have taken place last week, were driven up by higher energy prices in June, according to aromatics traders.

Major US xylene producers include BP, Flint Hills Resources and Chevron Phillips.
