HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The city of Columbus, Ohio, has dismissed its public nuisance lawsuit against former manufacturers of lead pigment, a lawyer representing the companies said on Wednesday.
The city voluntarily dismissed the 2006 lawsuit with prejudice, said Charles Moellenberg, an attorney for defendants Sherwin-Williams and Millennium Holdings.

"The lawsuit was legally and factually wrong in suing companies that lawfully made products that the city, painters and consumers demanded historically as the best on the market," Moellenberg said.
The dismissal marks the latest in a series of victories for paint and pigment makers in US public nuisance cases.
On 1 July, the Rhode Island Supreme Court rejected a lead paint public nuisance lawsuit filed nine years earlier.
