Shell rolls over August MEG at $1,260/t

SINGAPORE (ICIS news) -- Monoethylene glycol (MEG) major, Royal Dutch Shell has rolled over its August nominated price from last month at $1,260/tonne (€806.40/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) Asia, the company said on Thursday.

 

The company did not reveal the reason for keeping term prices at the same level from July.

 

The other MEG makers, MEGlobal and Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC)

have nominated their August selling ideas at $1,300/tonne CFR Asia and $1,260/tonne CFR Asia respectively.

 

For July, nominations from all three MEG majors were at $1,260/tonne CFR Asia.

 

MEG is used to make polyester fibres and yarns and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips.
