Clariant acquires US-based masterbatches firms

MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Swiss specialty chemicals producer Clariant has acquired the combined companies of US-based masterbatches suppliers Rite Systems and Ricon Colors, it said on Thursday.

This acquisition would help Clariant strengthen its masterbatches market position in North America, it said, adding that Rite Systems and Ricon Colors have both liquid and solid masterbatches technology.

The terms of agreement, that transferred the businesses effective 1 July, were not disclosed.

"Rite Systems/Ricon Colors is an excellent partner to expand our product and service offering in North America, especially for our customers in the packaging and consumer goods market segments," said Dominik Bertrab, head of Clariant Masterbatches.
