TORONTO (ICIS news)--Symrise has expanded its business in Mexico with a new 500 square metre laboratory and development facility targeted at that country’s growing beverage market, the Germany-based flavour and fragrance producer said on Friday.

Mexico was one of the largest markets for flavours in Latin America and one of the world’s most important markets for soft drinks, the company said.

The expanded facility would help Symrise to further grow its business in Mexico and the region, it said.

Symrise also said it had appointed Sergio Hernandez director of its flavour and nutrition division in Mexico.

Hernandez was previously a business director at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF).
