Mitsubishi Chem to turn around BPA unit in Oct

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan-based Mitsubishi Chemical will shut down its 120,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant in Kurosaki, Fukuoka prefecture, for a month-long maintenance, a company spokesman said on Tuesday.

“The company has planned to shut down its Kurosaki BPA unit in October for a month-long maintenance,” the source said.

Mitsubishi has another 100,000 tonne/year BPA unit in Kashima, which recently had its turnaround from late May to early July. 

Other BPA majors in Asia include Kumho P&B, LG Chem, Nippon Steel and Nan Ya Plastics.
