SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Sinopec subsidiary Yangzi Petrochemical restarted its east China-based 200,000 tonne/year linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit on 21 July, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant had been shut down on 4 July due to a technical problem, the source added.

The disruption did not affect the market supply as the company had built up an an inventory of around 5,000 tonnes of LLDPE prior to the shutdown, the source said.

The company’s 270,000 tonne/year high density PE (HDPE) unit and 400,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) line at the same site were operating normally, he added.
