Taiwan’s CPC extends buy naphtha tender by 1 day

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwans CPC Corp has extended the validity of its recent buy tender for 90,000 tonnes of heavy naphtha for September delivery, industry sources said on Wednesday.

The tender had closed on 21 July, with validity until 22 July.

It was supposed to have been awarded on 22 July but had been extended to 23 July due to high offers. Price was heard to be at premium to Japan quotes cost and freight (CFR) Taiwan.

Exact details remained sketchy. Results were expected later in the day.

The tender sought three cargoes each of 30,000 tonnes of naphtha to be delivered over 1-10 September, 8-17 September and 11-26 September into Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan.

CPC previously paid a premium of $5-6/tonne to Japan quotes CFR Taiwan for delivery in August and a premium of $1-2/tonne to Japan quotes CFR Taiwan for a similar cargo for delivery in July.
