SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thai Polypropylene (PP) plans to cut production at its 160,000 tonne/year Rayong plant by 20% from early August due to a shortage of on-site propylene feedstock, a company source said on Thursday.

“The production rate will be cut for around one week,” the source said, adding that its propylene supply would be reduced when its feedstock supplier PTT Chemical shut one of its crackers for turnaround.

Its other, 180,000 tonne/year PP line at the same site will run normally, he added.

PTT Chemical’s cracker turnaround has also affected production at another local PP producer, IRPC.
