SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--The Daqing subsidiary of China’s BlueStar Group plans to make test runs at its newly-built styrene monomer (SM) unit in September, a company source said on Thursday.

Construction of the 80,000 tonne/year SM unit began last July and was scheduled to be completed next month, the source said but declined to give financial details.

“We plan to test operation in September. If everything goes well, the unit may come on stream at the end of this year,” the source added.

The company in Daqing city, in the northeast province of Heilongjiang, is a subsidiary of China National BlueStar (Group) Corp headquartered in Beijing.
