TORONTO (ICIS news)--Cereplast has completed the mechanical installation of a first 50m pound/year bio-resin line at its US plant in Indiana and expects to begin commercial production next month, the US bio-plastics producer said on Tuesday.

The plant, at a 63 acre site in Seymour, Indiana, could be expanded to 500m pounds/year by 2010, Cereplast said.

Media officials were not immediately available for additional comment on Tuesday morning.

Cereplast also said that Mark Barton, a former plastics resin production manager with Basell Polyolefins, Nippisun and Toray Resins, had joined Cereplast to manage the Indiana site and the company's overall manufacturing operations.
