LyondellBasell wins tech contract for Saudi PP unit

LONDON (ICIS news)--LyondellBasell has been given the contract to supply process technology for Arabian Industrial Fibres’ (Ibn Rushd) new polypropylene (PP) plant in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, the petrochemicals major said on Wednesday.

 

Start up of the 550,000 tonne/year plant was expected in 2012, utilising LyondellBasell’s Spheripol process technology.

 

Ibn Rushd is an affiliate of Saudi petrochemicals giant SABIC.

 

The companies did not provide any financial details on the contract.
