US retail gasoline down fourth consecutive week

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday that the US average retail price for regular gasoline fell for the fourth week in a row.

In its weekly commentary, EIA said the national gasoline average was down by 7.5 cents for the week at $3.88/gal, tumbling 23.4 cents from the all-time high set on 7 July.

On the east coast, the retail gasoline price dropped by 7.2 cents to $3.888/gal, while prices in the midwest were down 5.5 cents at $3.772/gal.

Gulf coast gasoline prices were down by 9.1 cents at $3.766/gal, the lowest of any region.

In the Rocky Mountain region, gasoline prices were down by 5.4 cents at $4.006/gal.

West coast gasoline prices fell by 10.5 cents to $4.14/gal.
