SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Anglo Dutch monoethylene glycol (MEG) major Shell Chemicals has lowered its September nomination by $110/tonne from last month, a company source said on Friday.

Shell’s September nomination was pegged at $1,150/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia, the source added.

This was a significant drop from its August nominated price of $1,260/tonne CFR Asia, and is similar to MEGlobal’s price nomination of $1,150/tonne CFR Asia.

MEG is used to make polyester fibres and yarns and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips.
