HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) had no talks planned with union workers who continued their strike during  the weekend, a company spokesperson said on Monday.

A strike that began late last week continued into Monday, with United Steelworkers union members picketing outside the company’s 2m tonne/year Allan plant, 800,000 tonne/year Cory facility and 300,000 tonne/year plant in Patience Lake, PotashCorp spokesperson Tom Pasztor said.

All three facilities are in Canada’s Saskatchewan province and produce potash fertilizer.

Last Thursday, talks with a mediator broke down over a wage disagreement, both sides said.

Workers staged a brief strike at the Cory plant last month, but called off the demonstration after bargaining resumed.
