SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Chang Chun Plastics plans to shut down its phenol-acetone plant in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, in early October for scheduled maintenance and a capacity expansion, a company official said on Friday.

The plant, which can produce 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 125,000 tonnes/year of acetone, would be taken offline for two months, the source said, adding that output would be increased by 100,000 tonnes/year for phenol and by 60,000 tonnes/year for acetone.

The plant was now running normally as the company built inventory ahead of the shutdown, the source added.
