SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Ube Industries will shut down one of the two caprolactam lines at its Ube city plant for a two-week maintenance from late September, a company source said on Tuesday.
One 45,000 tonne/year line at the 90,000 tonne/year plant in western Yamaguchi prefecture would be closed for routine maintenance, he added.
Ube uses about 75% of the plant’s output for its downstream nylon resin facility, leaving the rest for sale.
There would be no significant impact on the market as the company was expected to build stocks ahead of the shutdown, sellers and buyers said.
