German chem producer prices rise 13.4% in July

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Germany’s chemical producer prices rose 13.4% in July year on year on higher energy costs, Germany’s federal statistics office said on Tuesday.

 

Chemical producer prices were up sequentially by 4.3% from June 2008.

 

Germany’s overall producer price index rose 8.9% from July 2007 and 2.0% from June 2008, said the Statistisches Bundesamt in Wiesbaden.

  

Energy prices were up 24.5% from July 2007 and 5.1% from June 2008, it said.

 

Excluding energy prices, July’s producer prices were up only 3.6% year over year, the office added.
