SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC) will shut down its 160,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant at Tasheh for up to five days next week due to an electricity supply shortage, a company official said on Thursday.

"We need to shut down for four or five days due to the industrial power shortage in Tasheh," he said in Mandarin.

The producer added that there would not be a significant impact of the shutdown on the acetic acid market in light of the current market bearishness, he added.
