HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow said on Friday its Freeport #7 olefins cracker in Texas will be offline for several weeks after a cooling tower partially collapsed at the site.

The incident took place early on Thursday, Dow said, adding that no injuries or loss of containment was reported.

Dow said it expects the outage to have minimal impact on operations for its downstream derivatives.

Dow’s Freeport #7 cracker has capacity for 612,000 tonnes/year. The company has another cracker at the site, Freeport #8, with capacity for 1m tonnes/year.
