SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Qiwangda Haizhong expects to restart its aromatics unit at Linzi city in Shandong province early September after shutting it down mid-week for maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

"The shutdown will last for around ten days to give way for the first circuit connection at the phase three construction of the plant," the source said, adding that the firm would not sell any products during the shutdown period.

Once the phase three expansion is completed in early October, the company’s aromatics capacity would more than double to 70,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 40,000 tonnes/year of xylene, while its benzene capacity would remain unchanged at 60,000 tonnes/year.
