NewsFlashSouthern Chem rolls methanol contract

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Southern Chemical on Thursday nominated its September North American contract price for methanol at 155 cents/gal ($523/tonne, €356/tonne) FOB USG.

The Houston, Texas-based methanol producer effectively rolled its FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf) FOB (free on board) price from August. SCC contract prices have not changed in four months.

Earlier on Thursday, Vancouver-based Methanex also rolled its September methanol contract price at 158 cents/gal ($526/tonne or €359/tonne). Spot prices for methanol were at 145-150 cents/gal ($483-500/tonne or €328-340/tonne) FOB USG, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
