TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s production of caustic soda in July increased 2.3% to 383,981 tonnes year on year, a local industry association said on Friday.
This was a 3.9% increase from 369,508 tonnes produced in June, the Japan Soda Industry Association added in a statement.
The country exported 53,953 tonnes of caustic soda in July, up 97.2% year on year, while it was a 90.3% increase from 28,357 tonnes month on month, the association added.
Japan produced 32,766 tonnes of soda ash in July, a 16.6% increase from the year-ago period, while its exports for the month remained constant at 35 tonnes, the association said.
