HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) is sending a five-member team to investigate the fatal explosion at Bayer CropScience's plant near Charleston, West Virginia, the agency said on Friday.
The explosion, at its West Carbamoylation Center, resulted in a chemical release, Bayer said. That release developed into a fire several minutes later.
The fire was later brought under control. There was no evidence of chemical exposure either on or off the site, Bayer said.
