SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Daqing Petrochemical has shut down its acrylonitrile (ACN) plant and the downstream acrylic fibre(AF) unit for scheduled maintenance, in tandem with the partial shutdown of a naphtha cracker, a company source said on Monday.
“The ACN plant was shut down last Thursday, and will restart around late September,” the source said. The plant is located in Daqing, northeast
The 80,000 tonne/year ACN plant was planned to shut down on 18 August, but it had to postponed to September to coordinate with the cracker turnaround delay.
The 65,000 tonne/year AF plant had shut down earlier than the ACN plant amid weak market demand and would resume production around mid-to-late September.
