HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Nearly all oil and natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico remained shut in following Hurricane Gustav, the US Minerals Management Service (MMS) said on Wednesday.
Based on reports that the service received at 11:30 Houston time (16:30 GMT), 95.8% of oil production and 91.6% of natural gas production remained shut in, the service said.
Companies have evacuated personnel from 599 out of the 717 production platforms in the Gulf, the MMS said. In addition, 91 out of 121 rigs have been evacuated.
On Monday, all Gulf oil production and 95.4% of natural gas production was shut in, the service said.
