LONDON (ICIS news)--Polimeri Europa has lifted force majeure on styrenics from its Mantova, Italy site, a company source reported on Thursday.
Polimeri declared force majeure on polystyrene (PS), expandable polystyrene (EPS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) at the end of June due to an incident at the site that led to a styrene shortage.
“We are continuing to control stocks of PS,” said the source.
The PS market reported very weak demand in August, and styrenics markets in general had not been much affected by Polimeri’s force majeure.
The company produces 55,000 tonnes/year of ABS, 35,000 tonnes/year of SAN, 75,000 tonnes/year of general purpose PS (GPPS), 100,000 tonnes/year of high impact PS (HIPS) and 35,000 tonnes/year of EPS at Mantova.
