SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Yankuang Guohong Coal Chemical Co expects to resume normal operations at its 500,000 tonne/year methanol unit by 10 September after restarting it this week, said a company source on Monday.

The plant in eastern Shandong province had been off line since 1 July, contrary to earlier reports stating that it was running at 50% rates, he said.

The facility had been experiencing technical problems, the source added.

Chinese methanol was at $410-430/tonne CFR (cost and freight) China last Friday, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

Other methanol producers in China include CNOOC Kingboard Chemical Limited and Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy Ltd.
