HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Kinder Morgan Energy Partners has bought a petroleum and chemical products terminal in Wilmington, North Carolina, from ChemServe, Kinder announced on Tuesday.
The terminal has 40 tanks with more than 1.1m bbl of capacity. It offers access via rail, barge, ship and truck and gives trucks access to two major highways.
Kinder spokesman Joe Hollier said the company would not disclose the purchase price.
The facility provides liquid and heated storage and handles several commodities, including caustic soda solution, urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN) solutions, asphalt, methanol and various liquid chemicals.
Kinder Morgan, a pipeline transportation and energy storage company, owns an interest in or operates more than 25,000 miles (40,000km) of pipelines and 165 terminals in North America.
