BUENOS AIRES (ICIS news)--Brazil’s Infinity Bio plans to export ethanol to the Asia market, a company executive said on Tuesday.

Japan, Korea, China and India are the big buyers for ethanol and Infinity Bio has several projects to export to the Asian markets”, Infinity Bio executive Roberto Gaensly said at the Biofuels Americas Congress in Buenos Aires.

The company could be exporting between 500,000 and 3m litres of ethanol/year by 2010-2012, Gaensly said.

Infinity Bio also plans to create a joint venture with an Argentine company, Gaensly said,

“We see a big opportunity in Argentina, since this country doesn’t have ethanol and at the same time in Brazil the biodiesel business is not yet mature," Gaensly said.

The biofuels congress meets through Wednesday.
