SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (ISK) plans to shut down its titanium dioxide (TiO2) facility at Yokkaichi for a scheduled maintenance next month, market sources said on Thursday.

The 160,000 tonne/year plant in central Japan will be shut from early-October to end-October, the sources added.

The company recently announced a $200/tonne price increase for fourth-quarter TiO2 in Asian markets on the back of higher energy and service costs.

Its plants in Japan and Singapore have a total annual TiO2 capacity of 220,000 tonnes.
